Joined Evacuation Hospital No. 2475 in 1944. Before that, Zoya Ivanovna had completed courses for nurses and snipers, worked at Tyumen Post Office No. 2, and was waiting for a draft notice. Later, it turned out that the call-up notices had arrived, but the postal management had hidden them — there was a shortage of staff, and the supervisors had arranged with the military commissariat not to have her drafted. When Zoya found out, she went to the nearest evacuation hospital on her own initiative.
In October 1944, Hospital No. 2475 was relocated to the town of Klintsy in the Bryansk Region. Kazarina recalled that she and her colleagues personally transported equipment, medicines, and medical supplies from Tyumen.
